SOCKET JENIE SOCKETS

STOP CRANKING! AND REPLACE THE CRANK! USE A BATTERY OPERATED DRILL OR SCREWDRIVER WITH A SOCKET JENIE USED ON POP- UP ROOF CAMPER JACKS AND 5TH WHEEL OR STABILIZER JACKS

THE QUICK WAY TO LOWER OR RAISE YOUR CAMPER ROOF OR JACKS

Several years ago it became apparent that the down sizing of the American vehicles was destined to cause the pop up trailer to increase in demand. A study was initiated to see if hydraulics or other convenience devises could be developed for this part of the RV industry. The result was the development of a miniature hydraulic system to level the fold down camper, a variation of the hydraulic system to raise the roof on the pop up vehicle, and a family of special sockets to raise and lower the roof and stabilizer jacks. Variations of the Socket Jenie product line also will operate levelers and jacks for 5th wheel and truck insert campers.

As the dealers and customers requested sockets for other applications, the original design evolved into a combination roof and stabilizer jack design, rear 5th wheel leveling jacks, travel trailer scissor jacks, and truck camper insert jacks. The socket is made from a single piece of steel, and the stem has been specially machined to eliminate slipping in the rill chuck. Due to the rugged construction of the socket, it has a lifetime warranty.

To use the sockets that raise and lower the pop up camper roof, a drill with a 1/2" chuck is required. For other sockets the stem is designed identical to the roof socket, however the size of the stem has been reduced to fit a 3/8" drill chuck.

STARCRAFT POP-UP MODELS

The SOCKET JENIE family of sockets has just grown to a total of eleven (11) designs, thanks to the help, criticisms, and testing of prototypes by Scott Galloway and Nick Gatel. The new socket will fit any STARCRAFT produced prior to 2002 that has an oval shaped crank socket. This design is similar to the other two sockets that raises and lowers the roof, and requires a ½” drill chuck. It is made from a single piece of steel, and has a special machined shank that will not slip in the drill chuck.

LVSG-630 SOCKET JENIE USED FOR STABILIZERS JACKS 3/8" DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-630 COLEMAN, VIKING, CLIPPER, APACHE, and like, STABILIZER JACKS. Used to lower and raise BAL type jacks, typically found on most pop up or fold-down tent campers that have the “crank down” type of jack. The typical jack on these units have a threaded screw that has been formed on the end to make 2 small ears, and the crank end is hollow with 2 slots that match the screw end of the jack. This socket will fit most old and new pop up camper models.

LVSG-875 SOCKET JENIE USED TO RAISE THE ROOF ON POP UP CAMPERS 1/2” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-875 COLEMAN POP-UP MODELS. This socket will fit most Coleman models produced prior to 2005. It is also a combination design that will also fit the crank down stabilizer jacks. Be sure to caution the customer due to the torque of the drill when the jack reaches home position and the only part that can turn is the operators arm.

LVSG-876 SOCKET JENIE USED TO RAISE THE ROOF ON POP UP CAMPERS 1/2” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-876 FLEETWOOD / COLEMAN In 2005 Fleetwood (Coleman) fold down rear bumper was moved, which required the development of a new socket. This socket is 7" long and is the replacement for the LVSG-875.

LVSG-877 SOCKET JENIE USED TO RAISE THE ROOF ON POP-UP CAMPERS 1/2” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-877 COACHMEN / VIKING The Coachmen / Viking fold down roof lift system was completely redesigned for the introduction of the 2005 model year. The new design operated the roof lift from the rear, and changed the crank design. It is also like the LVSG-875 but is 8" long.

LVSG-750 SOCKET JENIE USED FOR STABILIZERS JACKS 3/8” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-750 TRAVEL TRAILERS AND 5th WHEEL TRAILERS. Any new style BAL heavy duty scissor jack that uses a ¾” hex crank for operating the stabilizers. Note that many 5th wheel units have various types of hydraulic and electric systems to operate the front stabilizers, but ALL use the scissor jacks on the rear. This style is currently being used for the majority of RV manufacturers today.

LVSG-625 SOCKET JENIE USED TO RAISE THE ROOF ON POP-UP CAMPERS 1/2” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-625 VIKING, CLIPPER, ROCKWOOD, VENTURE Campers that use the Goshen roof lift system can use this socket. This design is the most common in the industry. Make sure that the customer has a 7/8” square crank end that fits into the winch. The socket is also a combination design that not only fits the winch, but the end is modified to fit most crank down stabilizer jacks.

LVSG-437 SOCKET JENIE USED FOR STABILIZERS JACKS 3/8” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-437 TRAVEL TRAILERS, 5th WHEEL TRAILERS, AND TRAIL MANOR TRAILER. Use for old style stabilizer jacks that have a bent crank that fits thru a hole in the jack. This heavy duty design was standard issue on early BAL type scissor style stabilizers for travel trailers and 5th wheel trailers. Approximately five years ago a new design was developed that replaced the “hole in a tube” design with a hex head design.

LVSG-406 SOCKET JENIE USED TO RAISE THE ROOF ON POP-UP CAMPERS 1/2” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-406 STARCRAFT POP-UP MODELS. Pre-2002 STARCRAFT models that use an oval shaped hole in the crank. The end of the crank looks like a tube that has been crushed to make the hole oval shaped to fit over the winch shaft. The lift system on the new Starcraft is a square crank , and fitted into a square tube on the winch. (see) LVSG-625

LVSG-510 SOCKET JENIE USED FOR STABILIZERS JACKS 3/8” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-510 TRUCK INSERT CAMPERS WITH TITAN JACKS. This “outrigger” jack is similar in function as the LVSG-500, but is designed slightly different.

LVSG-500 SOCKET JENIE USED FOR STABILIZERS JACKS 3/8” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-500 TRUCK INSERT CAMPERS WITH ATWOOD JACKS. This type of “outrigger” jack is attached to the body of the camper insert, and is used to stabilize the camper when in use or when it is removed for storage off the truck. The original version of the crank had a plastic piece that pushed a safety ring out of position, which allowed the jack to raise and lower. This crank is no longer available from the manufacturer. There is also the New version that does not use the safety ring, LVSG-501. Our design is made completely of steel, and will not break.

LVSG-501 SOCKET JENIE USED FOR STABILIZERS JACKS 3/8” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-501 TRUCK INSERT CAMPERS WITH ATWOOD JACKS. This socket is used for the new style Atwood storage / stabilizer jacks on truck camper insert units that DO NOT HAVE the safety ring that must be pushed back to operate the jack.

UNDERSTANDING Camping Trailers Roof Lift Systems All pop up camping trailers have one thing in common: The roof must be raised before it can be used. The method to get it raised has been by an ever changing combination of springs, pulleys, and winches. For a number of years the simple winch and cable systems have dominated the market, maintaining the original basic design. However, within the past few years there have been several innovative methods introduced by manufacturers and after market companies. CCI currently offers.....CONTINUED

LVSG-416 SOCKET JENIE USED FOR STABILIZERS JACKS 3/8” DRILL CHUCK REQUIREDLVSG-416 SOCKET JENIE FOR SLIDE OUT ROOMS (KEYSTONE MODELS) This socket requires a 3/8” drill chuck, and can be used with a 110V or battery operated drill. It will be necessary that you have the dimensions of your crank socket end and the length that it fits into the camper body.

Roof Lift Systems In addition to the leveling and slide-out cylinders, CCI has developed a unique miniature hydraulic system for leveling fold down campers, using a standard hand held drill. From this application another system was developed to raise the roof on a fold down camper. This latter system is marketed under the brand names of ROOF JENIE and E-Z POWER LIFT SYSTEM. These systems can be installed by a dealer, the customer, or at our factory. Systems have been successfully installed on units manufactured by Coleman, Viking, Forest River, Dutchmen, and Starcraft
