The type of OEM developed or designed by Custom Cylinders International Inc. range from large hydraulic cylinders to operate press equipment to small pneumatic cylinders to lock prison doors. By providing new cylinders to the OEM customer, the natural associated service that has developed from the Production activity was a custom Repair Service. RECREATIONAL VEHICLES
Custom Cylinders International Inc. has been manufacturing hydraulic cylinders for the Recreational Vehicle industry for more than 25 years. The majority of these cylinders fall into two types: Motor home leveling cylinders and Room slide out cylinders. In addition to the RV industry a large number of cylinders have been made for the horse trailer and general purpose trailer vehicles. A few of the brands known to use the Custom Cylinders International, Inc. design are Fleetwood Motor Homes, Fleetwood Travel Trailers, Kwikee Level Best Systems, Equalizer Systems, Dutchmen Travel Trailers, Sundowner Horse Trailers, Stetson Products, The Jack Systems, National RV, Gulf Stream Motor Homes, Hydra-Slide Products, Taylor-Newcomb Engineering, Coachmen Clipper, Viking Industries, and Sooner Trailers.
Replacement cylinders are maintained in stock for shipment to RV dealerships, RV internet stores, repair service companies, and directly to the consumer. In addition to providing the original replacement cylinders, CCI offers a rebuild and remanufacturing service for cylinders manufactured by other companies. Lead time for shipment will vary from stock cylinders shipment within 24 hours to less than 2 weeks for repair or remanufactured cylinders. Technical information is available through the Engineering department at CCI for specific applications.
In addition to the leveling and slide-out cylinders, CCI has developed a unique miniature hydraulic system for leveling fold down campers, using a standard hand held drill. From this application another system was developed to raise the roof on a fold down camper. This latter system is marketed under the brand names of ROOF JENIE and E-Z POWER LIFT SYSTEM. These systems can be installed by a dealer, the customer, or at our factory. Systems have been successfully installed on units manufactured by Coleman, Viking, Forest River, Dutchmen, and Starcraft

Due to the design of the slide out mechanism, this cylinder will usually fail due to lack of lubrication of the slide. In cooperation with the Fleetwood Motor Home engineering department a new design was developed that has proven to be quite successful in reducing the reasons for failure. VERSION #8 is now offered in the new configuration as a standard replacement item. The outside diameter of the cylinder body is 1 7/8”, has a ¾” rod, 14” stroke, and is approximately 21 ¾” from the center of the mounting hole to the tip of the rod.
